A listed old town

Haarlem’s centre, around the Grote Markt and the St Bavo church, is full of listed buildings, hidden courtyards and canal houses. Under monument rules chasing into walls is often not allowed; we work with surface-mounted containment in a finish that suits the building, or route new cable through existing chases, mapping the installation before touching it.

1930s districts with installations that have grown

The Bloemenbuurt, Kleverpark and the south-west districts are largely sought-after 1930s homes. The original installation is rarely the problem; what causes trouble is everything added over almost a century by different hands. We map that clearly first, so a repair or extension actually solves the problem.

Consumer units, high-rise and EV charging

Many Haarlem homes still run on an outdated consumer unit — replacing it is a common job. Schalkwijk is largely post-war high-rise with communal meter cupboards, where we coordinate with the owners’ association or landlord. Haarlem is also decarbonising fast; for an EV charger, solar or a heat pump we first work out what your supply can carry.
