Charging at home

Home charging is cheaper and more convenient than public charging. But an EV charger installation is more than fixing a socket to a wall: a car charges at full power for hours, which places real demands on cabling, protection and earthing.

What a correct installation includes

A dedicated circuit in the consumer unit, used only by the charge point
A type B or type A-EV RCD, mandatory for EV charging
Adequately rated cable over the full run
Sound earthing, often with an additional earth electrode
Registration of the charge point with your grid operator
Inspection and handover to NEN 1010

What determines the price?

The distance between the consumer unit and your parking space
Whether groundwork is needed for a charge point on the driveway
Whether a three-phase upgrade is required for faster charging

You receive a fixed installation price up front. The charge point itself is quoted separately, or you can supply your own — we install all common brands.
